Just spin 90 degrees than shove it and butter the rest, thats how to learn, slowly you dont need to spin as much before you shove it, and aventually you dont need to butter the ending, you'll just land straight

its not a ton of spinning man. Work on body varial shuv-its for 5 minutes. Then kick one around alittle harder. And you'll land it. I've seen your footy. You can do it, your a good little skimboarder.

I've got a new little trick, Its an ollie where I come up to the wave frontside on an angle, than kinda hop on the wave and spin a little bit and land forewards on the wave, it was just some little chop so I coulnt alway land back on the wave, but it was fun,
My firend (Skimster) was doing them back side three days ago, so I figured I'dtry it back side, It was a beautiful 1.5 foot ground swell coming in, and I couldnt do it, so now I figured to go frontside, I think I have a cruddy pic somewhere

ok, this weekend skimming I was woring on them and remembered this thread. I noticed them seemed to get away from me if I had myself evenly weighted. I was much more consitent if I put more pressure on my front foot. Maybe try it, just was working for me.

I landed my first fairly good three shuv, the board would kinda slip out from uinderneath when I landed but it was fun, that was at the six on labour day. I figured you had to get the board to catch air, especially since I'm riding a large pro, and I'm not all that big of a guy.

the most important thing about tres is you gotta push hard in your ollie. To get the board to break free of the surface tension.

For some reason I can't do shuv's on my Comp. I can do them all day (singles) on my older heavy fibreglass meyer (well I used to, i haven;t used the board in forever).
Whenever I attempt to shuv with the Comp, the board usually flies out to the side of me. I can never seem to just spin it under my feet. It always flies up out of the water (weird considering i suck at ollies too) either to the side of behind, and I can't land it. they guy I skim with is below my skill level so I can't learn anything off of him. Tips?

be more forward on your board, that will help keep it under you and not out to the side. And stop getting 'chicken foot'. I bet you if you just commit to it afew times you'll have it.
skmfrk1- I bet you do 720 shuvs all day long. not.
